Chia Seed Benefits for the Skin:
- Banish Blemishes:
They help with inflammation in the skin – keeping acne at bay.
- Stress Reliever:
They contain magnesium, which keeps cortisol (AKA stress hormone) levels low. Not enough magnesium can also cause headaches and tiredness.
- Get Glowy without a facial:
They contain Omega 3 fatty acid, which strengthens not just your skin but also hair and nails. Reduces dryness and increases circulation.
- Help Fight Free Radicals:
They contain antioxidants, which help keep skin cells protected at a cellular level.
- Powerful Protein:
The protein in chia seeds helps maintain the collagen structure in the skin. Collagen is made up of amino acids from protein. Including good sources of collagen in your diet is essential for healthy skin, hair and nails.
Chocolate Chia Seed Pudding (overnight)
I used to eat my chia seeds just on top of my yoghurt and oats. I once tried to make chia pudding and I succeeded. But OMG; I really, really hated the texture of it. So slimy! And I threw away the whole bowl, haha. If more people have this; I got the perfect solution. So go make this chia pudding and I hope you will love it just like I do!
- 1 Banana
- 20 gr Chia Seeds
- 10 gr Cacao powder
- 150 ml Almond milk
- ½ tsp Vanilla extract
- 1 ½ tsp Maple syrup
- Pinch of Salt
- Take half of the banana and put it in a blender with the rest of the ingredients.
- Blend until it’s smooth.
- Pour into a bowl, cover and leave in fridge overnight. Or eat it right away.
- When ready to eat; top with remaining banana and some fresh blueberries.
And there you have your chia seed pudding, that isn’t slimy!
