SkinFood Sunday Spinach - Healthy Glowing Skin Juice with Flower

Welcome back to Skin Food Sunday. Today we are discussing all things Spinach and why you should eat more of it for your skin. It is packed with Iron, full of fiber and super easy to add to almost every meal or smoothie!

Spinach Benefits for the skin:

1. Skin Repair:

Spinach contains vitamin C. Vitamin C is important in skincare because it stimulates the production of collagen which holds our skin together. The more vitamin C we have in our diet the better our skin can repair itself.

2. Antioxidants:

Antioxidants protect our skin from free radical damage (breakdown of our cells) Spinach has lots of antioxidants which protects the skin from pre mature ageing (fine lines and wrinkles)

3. Rich in Fiber:

A high fiber diet makes sure your body gets enough time to absorb the nutrients required for collagen production. Our collagen production slows down as we get older so we must ensure we stimulate it as much as we can, and through our diet is one of the best places.

Glowing Skin:

The vitamins and minerals found in spinach keep your skin looking supple and well hydrated. They play an important role making your skin glow from the inside out.

I wanted to do something different than just make a smoothie with spinach, what 9 out of 10 times my go to thing is with spinach. So I came up with this recipe. If you don’t like the flavor of spinach, but you do want to eat it. Because it has so many benefits, try this one out. You will like it.

Serving 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 avocado
  • 1 clove Garlic
  • 30 gr Spinach
  • ¼ tsp Pepper
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Soy yoghurt
  • 2 Sundried tomatoes

Instructions:

  1. Take out the pit of the avocado and take of the peel of the garlic clove.
  2. Put everything except the sundried tomatoes in a food processor or blender. And blend until smooth. Season more to your liking.
  3. Put the spinach avocado mixture in a bowl.
  4. Slice the sundried tomatoes in small pieces and sprinkle on top.

And you’re ready to go, eat with nachos or spread on a sandwich.
